Three communities with refugee backgrounds recently held their annual general meetings, all electing women and young people onto their committees.

A group of actors perfoming iln a recent play depicting family issues concerning communities from refugee backgrounds. This drama project was organised by Changmakers Refugee Forum.

Niamatulah Khalili was re-elected as the president of the Afghan community and Sarjon Warde as the chairperson of the Assyrian Association.

The new Eritrean committee will choose one of their young members to be the new chairperson. A new constitution has also been written by young members of the community.

New Year was celebrated by many of the Afghan Community on 21 March. Mother tongue students showed their language skill in quiz and young men provided lots of fun trying to push each other over while hopping on one leg.
