fair_trade_2009Welcome to Fair Trade Fortnight 2009! Fair Trade Fortnight, Australia and New Zealand’s biggest annual celebration of all things fair trade, is on between 2 – 17 May 2009. Fair trade fortnight is a great time to learn more about fair trade.  What is fair trade? Fair trade pays products and workers fair prices for their work, helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to develop their businesses and operate in the global economy, while challenging unfair trading practices.

Support fair trade activities by attending any of the events  and buy any of the  fair trade products.  For more information you can visit www. fairtrade. org.nz

Volunteer wellington is proud to have Trade aid as one of our top 10 most active members. This beautiful shop on the corner of Victoria and Bond Street which sells crafts and commodities from around80 groups in 30 different countries in the Third World. Apart from a small management team the shop is staffed entirely by volunteers. More and more wellingtonians  head to Trade aid recognising that by shopping here (or in any other Trade aid shops throughout NZ) they are taking a shop along the way to redress trading injustices and inbalances.
