Celebrating Somalia

A small team of media experts are working as volunteers to support our member organisation The Wellington Somali Council. Valerie and Justin together with Volunteer Wellington are raising the profile of the organisation for this exciting fundraising event.

Although there are only 1500 ethnic Somali people in Wellington they are keen to pull together as a community and raise funds to make a difference. The money raised will support famine relief in Somalia via the international humanitarian charity UNICEF’s Africa Food Crisis Appeal.

Everyone in the greater Wellington region is invited to support the event and enjoy ethnic Somali foods, crafts, music and dance. It will be held on Saturday 26th November from 10am to 4pm at St Andrew’s on the Terrace, 30 The Terrace, Wellington. For more information check out Celebrate Somalia on facebook.

You can support the event by donating online via UNICEF’s website.
